  PhIxDA needs and update, and I just stumbled upon an article entitled JavaScript and Screen Readers detailing the quirks and compatibilty of several JavaScript events with the Jaws and Window Eyes screen readers. It really was an enlightening read and the author makes this point: We must begin to address the concerns of people who are trying to make their dynamic web applications accessible, or we will have no room to complain when the next batch of web applications prove to be unusable by the disabled.   Just thought I would make it known that Phixda is coming up to its first year of being together. The official date of the first post is October 4th, 2007 by The Magician. In honor of this I say we hold a little competition among ourselves and the group at large. What I am lacking however is ideas for what to do.   I was browsing the NASA website looking for panoramas of the Mars mission when i noticed that they had animated elements. Naturally, I coupled my curiosity with Firebug and the WebDev toolbar and discovered that they're using the Scriptaculous JavaScript framework. I asked Google what the top 100 companies to work for are and went to each website to see what they're using for their JavaScript/UI needs.   So it has been discussed many times through-out many groups in many parts of the world. Why reinvent the wheel? This seems to be holding true more and more in the world of interactive development and design. I really enjoy seeing what occurs when you take the coding development out of things and let someone focus on the design side of a project. Creative expressionism is hitting a new mark in my opinion.   So as you may be able to tell, Chris and myself have been making some changes to the site look today. We have added a favicon for the site, thanks to Chris. We have also changed the look and layout of the theme so that authors are now present on posts and you can also search and view articles by author. Just some minor stuff for now but look for more changes in the coming days.

  So I was really bored after everyone left today at work so I decided to work on a new Blog design. You can see from the screenshot above what it looks like and you can download the Photoshop File Here. As you can see from the design a took a lot of color and visual cues from the current IxDA website. I was attempting to achieve a good balance of our own style with that of the existing IxDA.
