  The milk in your fridge isn't usable. No, it's not expired, it's just not very usable because there is no standard color code for milk caps. I discovered this because in my house we keep two kinds of milk in the fridge, skim & 1%. I drink the skim milk and my wife drinks the 1%. I thought I memorized the cap color of my milk, but some mornings I poured the wrong milk.   I have been working on a project here at work. It is my first project in AS3 and one of the largest and most complex I have ever made. The user capabilities have made for a difficult time but the thing that keeps fighting back is a context sensitive aspect. I have a little function that helps people locate a nearby service based on their zip code.   So I'm programming AS3 over the last couple of months I learned a very important lesson this weekend. The AS3 garbage collection process is random and unpredictable and can cause tweens to end early, among other things. I was getting ready to launch a new site this past weekend. One of my last QA fixes was to figure out why some tweens were ending prematurely. I stumbled upon some answers on the web.   I've decided. I'm done thinking about it. I'm done meeting new frameworks and blind dates with hand coded one off train wrecks and two birds are a stone. I made this decision weeks ago. Way back before Addy was even born (I'm an obsessed new dad) I made this decision on phixda's first birthday.   Technical support solutions installed iTunes and I created another username and password. Now I can download apps and music and more. I installed twitter and facebook and last fm and wordpress. I looked for picasa and blogger apps. Flickr seems to have a nice app. Maybe I'll start using flickr. Maybe I never should have started using picasa. This wordpress app is my favorite so far.

  I got an iphone! i have a feeling that i am the only iphone owner that can't figure out how to load a new app from the app store. i can browse and search and click the price and than the price changes to install and than i touch install and it asks me to enter my name and password and i do that but i don’t know what name and password to use. i have lots of names and passwords. i have too many names and passwords. so i am trying to load a twitter app. i don't know why ...

  I justify this entry with the argument that not having a print-friendly option can possibly hurt a user's experience. The YUI is an increasingly popular JavaScript framework these days. I've been asked to implement it into my work and traversing the documentation, for me, has been just a tad bit annoying. It's easy to be overwhelmed with links upon first visit. I just want to see a list of methods/properties and how to use them. I wish one click would get me there, but for now, I'll be grateful that documentation exists.   Over the weekend, as I was doing some work and testing some code, I asked myself a question that I constantly ask myself. Why am I still taking the time to code IE6 specific fixes and hacks into my work? I do all of my work on a MacBook Pro, downside number one.
